Maleri

Eftermiddagsfag, Fag i 2. periode ( 1. okt – 11. nov )

From Painting to Open Space

This course takes the expanded field of painting as a lead to explore the potential of experiment, process and movement in art. A selection of diverse artistic positions across art history serves as inspiration to broaden the horizon of what painting can or could be, ranging from Leonardo da Vinci, Artemisia Gentileschi to Naum Gabo, the Zero Group, Niki de Saint-Phalle and many others, well into the present. Using these historic artists as guiding lights, we will reflect on artistic strategies from constructivism to kinetic, conceptual to action and activism.

Apart from offering tips and tricks, advice and support, the focal point of the course lies in the reflection and discussion of artistic decisions, and how these influence the perception of individual works. Supporting every single participant in developing their very own palette of painterly means, technical and analytical tools, to elaborate on ideas so they become visions, to facilitate creation, in painting and beyond.
