Tamu Nkiwane (b. 1990, London) is an artist and musician based in Copenhagen. His interdisciplinary practice moves between painting, installation, sound, moving image, performance, writing, archival research and socially engaged projects. His work often begins with place, lived experience and memory, exploring how personal and collective histories become embedded within urban and social environments.

Nkiwane has exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions at the Zabludowicz Collection in London and the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, alongside projects and performances at Kaunas Biennale, Artagon in Paris, ICA London, SPACE, Café OTO and Imagine the City in Hamburg.

Recent work includes a musical performance with Harald Thøppel and a soundtrack for Mark Norfolk’s Punch the Sky, alongside the development of a longer-term site-specific research project culminating in a symposium at House of Annetta in London in 2027

Nkiwane holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Fine Art, specialising in Sound Art, from Middlesex University.
